He reportedly battled cancer for months before he finally have up the ghost on Wednesday, after suffering stroke and multiple dementia. By the time she finally gained access, Joe was in bad shape. She stayed by his bedside, where other family members later joined her. The Jackson family patriarch Joe, was reportedly in the “end stages” of a battle with terminal cancer and was hospitalized on Friday. TMZ alleges that Jackson had been battling the illness for some time, but it was at the end stages lately, adding that “the cancer could not be treated.”

Katherine had been at his side in the hospital for the past several days — as have some of the legendary manager’s children and grandchildren — but she was only able to do so after an alleged standoff with Joe’s manager, Charles Coupet. The Daily Mail reported that the father of 11 children’s last days had not been without controversy. For the first four days of his hospitalization, Joe was reportedly not able to see his family, with his handlers barring them from visiting him on his deathbed.

Katherine and daughte, Rebbie, had reportedly visited Joe in his Las Vegas home a week before he was moved to a hospital — without the rest of his family being informed of the move.
