STAGE PLAY: “GRAIN IN THE WIND – THE MUSICAL”

LADIES OF “YOUR VIEW” ON TVC, OWEN GEE, ROTIMI ADELEGAN, LATEEF DIMEJI, BUCHI CONFIRMS AS LEAD CASTS FOR “GRAIN IN THE WIND – THE MUSICAL”STAGE PLAY

 

As part of the highlighted numerous activities and build up events to herald the much talked about TheatreMania Africa Festival #TAF 2019, the organisers of the festival in conjunction with Black Image Theatre Productions with the support of Piccadilly Suites has announced to the public the names of the LEAD CASTS for the Stage Play being – Ladies of “YOUR VIEW ” on TVC (The Seven Hosts of the popular Morning Talk Show on TVC), Owen Gee( Lead Nigerian Comedian), Rotimi Adelegan (Lead actor in TINSEL/HUSH/JACOBS CROSS), Lateef Dimeji  (Lead Yoruba Actor), Buchi Comedian, Black Image Theatre & Glorious Performance (GPDM) Troupe. The stage play titled GRAIN IN THE WIND – THE MUSICAL is a political satire that comically situate and lampoon the Nigeria political/Socio- economic situation, it is indeed a must see for all and sundry.

The Stage Play is scheduled for Saturday August 25th, 2018 @ the Piccadilly Suites, No 3, Piccadilly, Agungi, Lekki, Lagos. Matinee -2.30pm, Red Carpet- 5.00pm and Command Performance-6.00pm.

According to the Producer of the play, Alayande Stephen T., he said ” this piece is a combination of so many thematic thrusts from Dictatorship, Ethnic Jingoism, Religious Bias, Betrayal, Youthful Exuberance, Nepotism, Discrimination, Unity, Political Thuggery, Oneness of purpose etc. We urge the public to come out enmasse to come watch the stage play and see their favourite celebrities like scintillating Ladies of YOUR VIEW from TVC – Morayo Afolabi, Yeni Kuti, Tope, Jumoke, Nyma, Obiajulu and Mariam while we have also confirmed others like Owne Gee, Adelegan Rotimi, Lateef Dimeji, Buchi etc that will join the ladies to do it live on stage, it is going to be whaow time out ” he averred.

This work of arts is not only historical and strategic but it is an opportunity to comically showcase the myraid of problem militating against Nigerian Democracy and the unity of her existence as a people. However, the beauty of the play is that it didn’t only lampoon the negative social vices of the society, it also proffer solutions to the issues.

The organizers also hinted that the play is put together to honour and appreciate the gigantic effort of Senator Adeola Olamilekan Solomon Yayi (Representing Lagos West Senatorial District) as a staunch supporter of the arts/theatre/movie industry in Nigeria.
